50% cuts in social housing = more people sleeping rough. Not funny.
You might think the provision of a safe roof over your head might be one of the marks of a civilized society. Well not according to the ConDem coalition…
According to the BBC the social housing budget will be cut by over 50% in tomorrow’s Comprehensive Spending Review. Lifetime tenancies will be axed for new tenants and rents will be charged at nearer the going market rate. Doesn’t sound much like social housing to me.
